Condition/Comments: Wonderful all original condition on this very early patent pending (note the singular patent) instructional. Also shows U permit number 401. This was likely a brewery sample as it is air sealed and the top lid shows a stamp that reads Globe Brewing Co. Baltimore, MD with a New York sales office address beneath it. The USBCOI states that the illustrated example with canning code 17A X is the only quality example known to the author, but this one is in finer condition than the one in the book, perhaps making it the best known example. It has an R10 rarity rating.
