Old Beer Cans & Breweriana for Sale • Archives for Research • Free Appraisals
Reference: USBC 64-27, USBCOI 281Brewery: Fort Pitt Brewing Co., Pittsburgh, PennsylvaniaManufacturer/Plant: American Can Co.Date of manufacture: circa 1930sCanning Code: n/a Contents/Type: 12 ozCondition/Comments: This is the first Running Waiter design. This early long opener variation is vastly more rare than the small opener variation. Can is clean with some spotting, and displays very well. The most notable mark is a small area of humidity/oxidation above the P of PITT on the face. Other humidity marks are not as heavy and most do not affect the coloration of the paint, only the surface texture. There is a shallow ding about an inch long over the opener illustration and a very faint crease near the waiters hand. Rarity rating of R9 in USBCOI. A singular Patent Pending can, it dates to 1935. PA tax stamp top lid. All original. See photos or inspect lots in Brimfield, MA or at NABA in Milwaukee for primary assessment of condition.
