Condition/Comments: Script on bottling department reads: Estab.. 1878, Erec. 1885. The Bottling Department also IDs the establishment as: John Grafs White Beer Brewery. It became the John Graf Brewery in 1884 so we believe this litho to be from this period. Some waviness to the litho likely from being loosely positioned in its original frame. Some minor toning to the right of the Graf image which extends to the border and another area below and just above the N in JOHN, also just above the word GRAFS. There are very few of these this is among the best in condition. There is some glare in the photo but the litho displays great! Grafs was a Milwaukee institution known more for its soda including its famed Grandpa Grafs Root Beer. Many natives to Milwaukee are unaware that in its early years, Grafs was a brewer. The last Graf involved in the business was Lawrie Graf and he sold it in 1968. Grafs soda today is a Canfields brand and is not made in Milwaukee. Circa mid 1880's.
