Old Beer Cans & Breweriana for Sale • Archives for Research • Free Appraisals
Reference: n/aBrewery: Pabst Brewing. Milwaukee, WisconsinManufacturer/Plant: See comments/descriptionDate of manufacture: Pre-ProCanning Code: n/a Contents/Type: N/ACondition/Comments: A unique photograph of US soldiers sitting in a room that has 2 Pre-Prohibition era Pabst ROG signs. Bottles in photo are blob tops with Pabst labels. Note the comedy: One soldier is holding an axe over the head of another soldier, as if he is going to strike. Another soldier is holding a beer bottle, as if about to hit another on the head. The initials US V (which stands for United States volunteers) can be seen under loupe. These men likely were involved in the Spanish American War of 1898. A previous owner of this photograph believed the photo was taken in Cuba but we are unable to verify this. Upper right and bottom left corners of mounting board suffered loss. No attempt has been made to clean/remove the dark spot on the man in the center. A great crossover military and brewery collectible. The photo image measures 8x6 and the mounting board is 11x9. All original.
