Reference: n/aBrewery: Schade Brewing Co., Spokane, WAManufacturer/Plant: UnmarkedDate of manufacture: Pre-ProhibitionContents/Type: n/aCondition/Comments: 25”w x 19”h (framed). The subject of this rare lithograph may be a church supper or community dance. The fiddler/instructor seems to be displaying his bow or using it to line up the girls before he starts playing. A similar—though much less formally arranged—line of like-aged boys look on from across the room, each surveying the lineup as if choosing his potential partner. Amused onlookers of all ages surround them. Even though an open bottle of Schade is present on the table and a Schade Brewing Co. sign hangs on the wall, the setting is not likely a saloon. The piece is in fair condition, with numerous wrinkles, rubs, and scratches. The original palette appears to be quite dark and muted, so no apparent degradation or fade has occurred. The frame is not original to the piece.
