Mt. Hood Brewing Co., Portland, Oregon
Chromolithography on Tin
Manufacturer: Chas. W. Schonk, Chicago
Date of manufacture: Circa 1905
Image dimensions (self framed): 22.25”w x 28”h
This self-framed tin lithograph sign is titled “Three Pleasures of Life,” presumably referring to the horse, beautiful lady, and bottle of Mt. Hood Beer featured in the graphics. Based on the dates of the brewery’s operation and the style of bottle we date this sign to approximately 1905.
It is all original and in very good condition. Though it does exhibit slight warping, there are no visible bends or creases. There are some spots and imperfections but this is still the best condition example of this sign of which we are aware.
We know of only 5 or 6 of these from this brewery.
