Old Beer Cans & Breweriana for Sale • Archives for Research • Free Appraisals
Business Name: National Brewing Co., Baltimore, MarylandManufacturer/Plant: See comments/descriptionDate of manufacture: circa 1950sCondition/Comments: Large cotton linen bunting measures about 9 feet wide by 3 feet tall. The style is similar to that used during the 1958 MLB All-Star Game held at Baltimore Memorial Stadium, with a square panel in the center. Even if not used specifically for that event, it likely hung during an opening day, playoff, or other notable game in a Baltimore or Washington stadium (Griffith Stadium) of the Senators, Orioles, Colts, or Redskins. It may have marked a section to which home runs or field goals could be targeted for some promotional prize, or indicated a section in which winners of brewery-sanctioned contests were seated. This is purely speculation as we can find no photo evidence to support this beyond the style similarity mentioned. The piece is in very good used condition with some staining and toning yet with no moth or rodent damage, fading, or significant tears. The pattern and pleating is not evenly spaced when comparing the left and right sides, an indication that one side or the other may have been resown. Manufactured by Annin Flag makers of Roslind, New Jersey. All items are original unless otherwise noted. For questions, feedback, or to sell a similar item contact Dan via email.
