Brewer: Arcadia Brewery. Arcadia, Wisconsin
Date of manufacture: Pre-Prohibition
Dimensions: Framed globe is about 24.5 inches. About 33 x 30 inches including hardware.
Arcadia Lager Beer reverse-painted glass tavern sign featuring the AB Co. eagle trademark above the large blue Arcadia script with Lager Beer below. Housed in its original black metal circular frame with decorative wall-mounting bracket and spear finial. Missing second lens. The graphics display strong color and excellent contrast, with an attractive warm patina to the glass that is typical of these early illuminated tavern signs. A handsome pre-Prohibition advertising display with excellent presence. Slight wear toward bottom, likely where mice took up residence for a while. The consignor, shown in the last photo (great guy!) states this sign was at the Hilltop Bar in Fountain City, WI. He obtained it from the owner's grainery where it was leaning against the wall in a pile of old straw. All items are original unless otherwise noted.
