Brewer: Berkshire Brewing Association. Pittsfield, Massachusetts.
Manufacturer: Rodier & Fitzgerald Glass Signs, 296 Pearl St., New York.
Date of manufacture: circa 1900
Dimensions: About 30 x 24 inches.

Exceptional sign features brilliant silver script, gold lettering and barley decoration against a rich burgundy background, all housed in its original decorative wood frame.

The reverse retains both the original Rodier & Fitzgerald Glass Signs maker's label and the original cardboard backing, boldly stamped "Property of the Berkshire Brewing Association," confirming the sign's originality.

This impressive sign is preserved in exceptional condition and displays beautifully. During our 30 years specializing in antique breweriana, we have never encountered another example and believe this may be the only surviving specimen.

Founded in 1868, the Berkshire Brewing Association became one of western New England's largest breweries. Following extensive modernization around the turn of the twentieth century, the brewery produced a number of well-known brands, including Mannheimer Lager, Greylock Ale, Berkshire Pale Ale, and Lenox Half Stock Ale before closing with the advent of Prohibition in 1919. Just a slight repair to the original frame, otherwise original. For questions, feedback, or to sell a similar item contact Dan via email.
