A toy trend intended to replace the Teddy Bear borne of Theodore Roosevelts time in office, Billy Possum was created during Tafts presidency, triggered by his affinity for eating opossum and potatoes. Plush toys were the main items created, though post cards, buttons, figurines, china, puzzles, and other merchandise such as this bank can be found with the theme. Condition is as shown, with about half of the original paint still present and no notable damage. A scarce piece. All items are original unless otherwise noted.
