Comments/description: Unusual image of a well-to-do woman using an early telephone. Perhaps an attempt by the brewer to create a progressive and technology-forward impression of both themselves and of women in general. While women were always popular tray subjects, they were usually depicted as lovely objective portraits or serving their men. The suffragette movement was well underway when this tray was issued so womens rights and temperance were both provocative topics for discussion at any drinking establishment. Made in Germany. All items are original unless otherwise noted. For questions, feedback, or to sell a similar item contact Dan via email.

Condition

Condition is excellent, with outstanding color and a fine sheen. The gold trim is very strong with little loss and even less evidence of humidity. Face has some crazing and some small lighter areas to her left.
