Boston Beer Company, Boston, Massachusetts. Crown Cork & Seal, 12 ounces, circa 1940s. Internal Revenue Tax Paid.

From the Bill Helmbold Collection comes this extraordinary, likely unique WHITE SPOUT “BROWN JUG” variation of Boston Light Ale. The cream enamel body and spout, brown crosshatched background and prominent vertical “BROWN JUG” lettering distinguish it from the familiar silver crowntainer. The lighthouse emblem and historical side panel pair Boston Light’s colonial heritage with the brewery’s founding in 1828 and its proud “America’s Oldest Brewery” advertising. An exceptional opportunity to acquire a major label variation with distinguished provenance.

Strong color and an especially attractive display face. Scattered small marks and scratches, localized wear to the crosshatching near the shoulder, and aging to the crown, rims and bottom. Includes a matching Boston Light Ale crown.
