Comments/description: A portion of the proceeds from this lot will be donated to NABA. From this small PA mining town is this lovely souvenir sign of pressed cardboard with raised/embossed floral framework around the portrait. Still shines nicely with original glossy finish. The Conemaugh Valley is best known for its connection to the catastrophic 1889 Johnstown Flood in which more than 2200 people lost their lives...one of th deadliest disasters in American history. The condition is outstanding, free of creases and moisture staining. It exhibits only minor surface scratches and nicks and, perhaps most surprising, an intact intricate die cut edge. Beautifully framed and matted with a fabric backing that is color-matched to the mauve/rose-colored flowers and dress of the litho. All items are original unless otherwise noted.
