Comments/description: A portion of the proceeds from this lot will be donated to NABA. Scarce tin-over-cardboard sign. Collectors may be more familiar with this stock image from the Meek Co. catalog on trays. Titled HEARTS ARE TRUMP, the scene depicts a game of bridge among bar patrons and their barmaid. All of the players likely have their hearts set on the pretty young woman, thus giving double meaning to the HEARTS ARE TRUMP caption. Condition is outstanding, the only marks being some small nicks/scratches and a couple of small stains visible in the gold border. The raised oval image area is still wonderfully shiny while the black outer area maintains a nice, uniform factory matte finish. No noteworthy or distracting dings or kinks either, although there is a minor outward ding that has had the paint worn from the surface. This is on the blue cloak of the player advising the barmaid.
