Comments/description: The consignor of this lot acquired these garments and photo directly from Gus (Gusto) Tomasetti, the real-life embodiment of the Hampden troubadour, in the 1990s at which time he inscribed/signed the back of the photo. Gus was a well-known accordion player in the Springfield, MA, area and had his own band. The image shows Gus wearing one of the coats on top of a car in the Holyoke, MA, St. Patricks Day parade, circa 1950. He indicated that the coats were custom tailored for him, one for summer and one for winter. He only had one vest. One coat is burgundy/maroon, the other more of a brown. The former is quite shiny and lighter weight for warmer weather, while the latter is heavier with duller velvet with a silk liner for cooler occasions. Branding is embroidered in gold on the black lapels and cuffs. All items are original unless otherwise noted. For questions, feedback, or to sell a similar item contact Dan via email.
