Comments/description: USBC 90-3 OI 474. Unique developmental can illustrates one of the earliest known proof-of-concept for a self-opening can. Mid-1935 issue with PATENT Pending. The tab covers a hole in the lid over which it is soldered. Bottom is off so construction is clearly revealed. On the Keglined strip and inside the can is written the number 6825. Whether this is a brewery, canning company, or unrelated individual effort may never be known. As for condition, the can has survived very nicely and displays great. with gorgeous color, bright silver and gold, and few marks. There is a light patina of pinpoint speckling in the gold and a few heavier scratches as shown. Perhaps not as evident on the KEGLINED side is a ding at the base of the OI panel and another near EASY in the gold strip. A light scuff appears next to the KEGLINED logo. There are four small, faint indents near the top right corner of the K-man box. Hardware is clean. Bottom is off with gear marks almost exclusively confined to the rim itself. What a great historical piece! All items are original unless otherwise noted. For questions, feedback, or to sell a similar item contact Dan via email.

Condition

Cans may have minor canning and handling dings at the rims that are not evident in photos. Please review photos carefully for these subtle indents. Larger dings that do not show and those in other locations will be noted in the item description.
