Comments/description: Note the Mass. Breweries attribution, rather than just H & J Pfaff, indicating post-1901 production. Pretty simple design by the standards of the time, utilizing a 2-color palette but very bold, legible letterforms that contrasted sharply with the trend of very ornate, serif-based, or calligraphic styles. Some staining on the edges but clean overall, including the bottle which is tinted a light green and still includes the bail and rubber stopper. We have seen no better example of this scarce bottle.
