Comments/description: We believe this to be one of only 2 (maybe 3) known to exist. The can is a bit of a mystery as the design and construction deviate from what would be expected for a Pfeiffer beer can from this ear. Herman Oswald made some interesting observations of FB, paraphrased in parenthesis: (Worth noting is that both known cans show signs of the lids bulging under pressure and would be indicative of a can of this type being filled with a contents under pressure like beer. These cans were not meant for that purpose, but these were times that meant for drastic and creative measures to save lives in war torn post Nazi occupied Eastern Europe. it is much like the WWII emergency water cans that were used for aid and saving lives. For a terrible retrospective look back, as the Nazi forces occupying Eastern Europe were fleeing, they left behind ruin, many stories of them contaminating the water supplies with petro or poison, There was a huge QUICK need for all sorts of relief and this can could have been part of that aid? Feels truly legit with second example and needs to be honored for what it is if so.) Perhaps it was quickly issued for use as a food or water can? Beyond debate is that the can is an intriguing and elsusive artifact. For questions, feedback, or to sell a similar item contact Dan via email.
