Comments/description: We are assuming this is from Southern Breweries in Norfolk, VA, although we find no other advertising for the brand with this style typography. Cloth appears to have been treated with what was likely a compound or paint that made for a more printable, weather-proof surface than printing directly onto cloth. That compound, such as a clay treatment or gesso, has not withstood the rigors of age, handling, or weather, as it disintegrates further every time the piece is touched, leaving a small cloud of dusty powder in the air. Much of the weave of the fabric is now visible where the substance has worn off and it feels very thin and fragile, especially at the fold lines and around the edges. That said, the brand is plenty legible and the colors apparent so it is still very displayable. Tears and stains throughout, some of which are highlighted in the close-ups. All items are original unless otherwise noted. For questions, feedback, or to sell a similar item contact Dan via email.
