Comments/description: This sign featuring a 3-D cast aluminum figure of Babe Ruth appears to be the only player ever issued of a supposed series of sports Hall of Fame players. No list of names is available for who else was planned, but research reveals no evidence of others besides Babe Ruth (who is listed as # 1 of the set below the RED TOP HALL OF FAME SPORTS SERIES text at the top of the bio panel). The piece has an embossed and lithographed foil-covered cardboard back panel with the metal figure attached by two screws in the back. The backing shows some warping and edge/corner wear, general soiling, a few darker stains, and a pretty severe gouge on the P of REDTOP. The figure of the Babe is about perfect.
