Comments/description: A portion of the proceeds from this lot will be donated to NABA. Beautifully designed and excellent condition. This sign presumably advertises the product of the Robert Smith India Pale Ale Brewing Co. of Philadelphia, later acquired by and referenced on C. Schmidt & Sons Tiger Head Ale packaging as being brewed IN THE ROBERT SMITH STYLE. Smith was in business until 1896, which indicates this is quite an early piece. New York agent info is located at the bottom, with the printer W. Eaves & Son of New York below that. The blue and black are solid opaque inks, while the center detail is a stippled effect and much more detailed. Center features horses and an eagle. Outstanding condition and nicely framed.
