Comments/description: A portion of the proceeds from this lot will be donated to NABA. Early Mathie Brewing tray displays a lighthearted image of a bear eagerly diving into a case of Red Ribbon to consume another bottle of the great tasting stuff. An empty already lies on the ground beside the case. The image is a more animated version of the logo shown on the case, which contains a trade mark bear and angled square. This is a visual representation of the company slogan of the time, MATHIE BREWING ON THE SQUARE. Square could have had a double-meaning, referring to both the brewers location and to its being a quality, wholesome product of value (as in, a square deal). Note that the bear and case are both on a large square laying in the grass. Condition as shown. Still has a sheen. 3 of the 4 corners have kinks that do not show in the photos. 1914 is scratched into the back of the tray. All items are original unless otherwise noted.
