Comments/description: Sign depicts a doctor driving his buggy at breakneck speed to the home of a patient, a stork zooming ahead with bottles of Malt Nutrine medicinal tonic to help with the cure. States on the reverse that it is A REPRODUCTION OF A SKETCH BY A FAMOUS ARTIST. More likely, rather than a reproduction, it is inspired by The Hurry Call, Night of May 30, 1918, in the Toul Sector, by Harry Townsend - which is a WWI field sketch that is housed in the Smithsonian. It depicts a row of ambulances surrounded on either side by troops as they all rush down the road toward the front line. All items are original unless otherwise noted. Condition

While some blemishes may be a little difficult to discern due to the dark colors, the photos do attest that there is no egregious flaw. The oxidation at top right is the most noteworthy. Has a slight outward bend. Paint is dulled but not crazed or chalky.
